Birth in Severance
Support that comes to you — and stays with you if plans change
Severance families give birth in a lot of different places — at home with a midwife, or in Greeley, Loveland, or Fort Collins. Because Severance sits a bit off the main corridor, I come to you: prenatal visits, postpartum visits, and in-home lactation support all happen at your kitchen table, not in a waiting room.
Plans don’t always go the way we pray they will. One Severance mom planned a home birth and ended up transferring to Poudre Valley Hospital — and I stayed with her through all of it. That’s what continuous support means: you don’t lose your doula when the setting changes.
If you’re early in pregnancy, the Holistic Birth Class in nearby Timnath is a good place to start. If you’re already home with a newborn and feeding is hard, text me — you don’t need to have been my doula client to get lactation help.
From a family I served
“Jenny was the birth support I needed and didn’t know it! I planned for a home birth in Pierce, CO and transferred to Poudre Valley hospital, she was there though it all. I never once felt like she gave up on me.”
Questions & answers
Questions from Severance families
Do you travel to Severance?
Yes. Severance is part of my regular service area for births, prenatal and postpartum visits, and in-home lactation support.
I’m planning a home birth. Can you still support me if I transfer?
Yes. I stay with you if a home birth becomes a hospital birth, and I’ll help you understand what’s happening and keep your preferences in front of your care team.
Can I hire you just for lactation help?
Absolutely. In-home lactation visits are available on their own to any family in Severance — no doula package required.
Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?
No. I’m a Christian, and I’m glad to pray with you, read Scripture, or weave faith into your birth if you want that. If you don’t, you’ll receive the same respect, care, and wholehearted support either way.
